Nursing Home Ratings - Hudson Valley Hit Hard

Nursing Homes in the Hudson Valley lose ratings.  Due to criticism by consumers about the ratings of Nursing Homes the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently changed the way these facilities are rated.  Almost half (40%) lost at least one star from their rating last year.

Speaking up can bring positive change.

John Oliver and Traffic Tickets

Admittedly, although not directly germane to personal injury litigation, this piece by John Oliver, while quite humorous, also seems poignantly unfortunate.  Please excuse us if it is considered by some to be political.  That is not our intent.  Just sharing what we think is a situation that should be addressed.  (Sorry, for the profanity).

1 Found Dead in Nursing Home

An 85 year old woman was found dead at the bottom of a stairwell while strapped to her wheelchair.  This facility, located in Illinois, has a notorious low safety rating.  Shocks the conscious.  In fact, the owner of this facility owns 11 other facilities throughout the State.

Elderly Abused at 1 in 3 Nursing Homes: Report

According to a study reported on by ABC News, 1 in 3 Nursing Home residents have been abused.  Appalling!  A primary reason is profits over people.  This should not be countenanced.
